
LA28 event programme marks strong commitment towards innovation and gender equality
With a total of 351 medal events, 22 more than at Paris 2024 (329), the LA28 programme maintains the core athlete quota of 10,500, with an extra 698 quota places allocated for the five sports proposed by the LA28 Organising Committee.

The Olympic Winter Games return to Europe, the birthplace of Alpine skiing, encompassing a large portion of Italy's breathtaking mountains and covering an area of 22,000 square kilometres. From 6 to 22 February 2026, around 2,900 athletes from over 90 National Olympic Committees will compete in 116 events on ice and snow.
